A closing note

There is no clean ending to what you are living through. Healing is rarely a straight line, for your child or for you. There may be days when things feel steadier, and others when the weight of what happened feels very close again. That does not mean you are going backwards. It means you are moving through something difficult.

Research tells us that having a believing, supportive and engaged caregiver can make an important difference in a child's recovery. You do not need to have all the right words or know what comes next. Being willing to listen, to learn, to protect your child and to keep showing up matters.

There may be things you wish you had known sooner. There may be moments you wish you could redo. What matters now is what you do with what you know today. The fact that you came looking for information, that you are trying to understand, and that you are refusing to look away is not a small thing.

Your child's story is bigger than what happened to them. And this moment, however overwhelming it may feel, does not get to decide the rest of their life.

You are not expected to have all the answers. You are here, doing the work. Keep going.
