Survivor Peer Support Groups

Hosted by survivors, for survivors

Ironwood’s Survivor Peer Support Groups offer a safe, confidential space for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse to connect, share, and heal together. Led by trained peer facilitators who are themselves survivors, these weekly groups provide understanding, encouragement, and community in a trauma-informed environment.

Each group is grounded in empathy and mutual respect—offering a place where survivors can find strength, validation, and hope in the company of others who truly understand.

Ironwood currently offers several peer-led groups, including men’s, women’s, co-ed, and partners and parents groups, all held in the welcoming Ironwood space in Georgetown.

What to Expect

Support groups run from 7pm to 9pm the same night each week for two months. We spend two months in session and then one month off. This gives our hosts and our participants much needed processing time and downtime.
We are located in downtown Georgetown. Our location is not listed to keep the privacy of our participants. Our space includes a survivors meeting room, a community room, a private counselling room, a kitchen and a private washroom.
At Ironwood we have a fully stocked pantry filled with healthy (and some less healthy) snacks, coffee, tea and cold drinks available to our participants. Our kitchen can be a bit of a hub and we have found community and laughter to be an important part of what we do.
